What We Do

Three Ways We Can Help

Each path is designed around where you are right now — whether you need a first conversation, a detailed written opinion, or sustained representation over many months.

Long-running matter representation

Long-Running Matter Representation

End-to-end handling of pension matters already through internal review. Full case reconstruction, expert correspondence, written submissions and hearing appearances. Suited to files spanning several employers or decades of service.

  • Honest written assessment at the outset
  • Updated in writing when new documents emerge
  • Flexible attendance — all sittings or none
  • Typically 8–14 months duration

We work with clients who need to understand their position clearly before deciding whether to act.

We set out at the beginning what can and cannot realistically be recovered. No inflated expectations.

Experience with Long Service Records

Cases involving multiple employers or decades of contributions require careful reconstruction. That is work we handle regularly.

Meetings in Your Preferred Language

Our office conducts meetings in English, Bahasa Malaysia and several other languages where the team can assist.

Written Updates at Every Change

Common Questions

Questions We Often Hear

What kind of pension matters does Payung Seri handle?

We handle matters involving EPF (Employees Provident Fund), public sector pension schemes, and occupational pension arrangements. This includes cases where a member believes their contributions have been incorrectly calculated, where a claim has been denied internally, or where a dependant is seeking to understand entitlements following a member's death.

How long has my matter been going on before you can help?

There is no minimum time requirement. A first meeting works whether you received a letter last week or have been corresponding with your former employer for three years. For representation, we generally ask to see any existing correspondence so we understand the history before advising on a path forward.

Can a family member come to the first meeting?

Yes, and we actively encourage it. Pension matters often affect a household rather than one person alone. Having a family member present helps ensure the discussion is fully understood, and that the notes we provide afterwards make sense at home as well as in our office.

How is the fee for the Written Opinion calculated?

The Written Opinion and Options Report is a fixed fee of RM 390. It covers our review of your correspondence and scheme rules, preparation of the written opinion, and delivery within three weeks. There are no additional charges for that document. If you subsequently wish to instruct us to act, we discuss a separate fee arrangement at that stage.

Is the consultation confidential?

All communications between you and our office are subject to legal professional privilege. That means what you tell us cannot be disclosed without your consent. You can speak openly about your situation, including matters you may not have felt comfortable discussing elsewhere.

What happens during the 8–14 months of representation?

We handle correspondence with the scheme administrator, your former employer and any relevant authorities. If submissions need to be prepared, we draft and file them. If there are sittings, we attend. You receive written updates whenever our assessment changes. Some clients attend every sitting; others prefer to leave the process entirely with us. Either way is fine.
