Our Methodology

How We Approach Every Matter

Pension matters are not resolved by urgency. The most useful thing a lawyer can do at the beginning of a matter is work out what the documents actually show and what options they create — before advising on which one to take. That is what each of our services is built around.

We start from the documents: the correspondence, the scheme rules, the service record. We build an accurate picture of the position before forming a view. When we form a view, we write it down, explain our reasoning and set out what each available route involves in practical terms.

This approach means some clients decide not to go further after a first meeting or a written opinion. That is the point. A decision made on accurate information — even a decision not to act — is more valuable than proceeding on the basis of a misunderstanding.

How to Choose

1.

New to this?

Start with the First Meeting — RM 160, one hour, no obligation.

2.

Already have documents?

A Written Opinion sets out your position and options in full — RM 390.

3.

Need someone to handle it?

Long-Running Representation takes care of the whole process — from RM 615.

Long-running pension matter representation

Service 01

Long-Running Matter Representation

End-to-end handling of pension matters that have already been through internal review without resolution. We take on full case reconstruction, expert correspondence, preparation of written submissions and appearance at hearings. This service is suited to clients whose files span several employers or decades of service.

The office sets out at the beginning what can and cannot realistically be recovered, and revisits that assessment in writing whenever new documents emerge. Clients may attend all sittings or none, as they prefer.

  • Full case reconstruction from existing records
  • Expert correspondence with scheme administrators
  • Written submissions and hearing appearances
  • Written updates whenever assessment changes
  • Flexible client attendance arrangements

Written legal opinion for pension matters

Service 02

Written Opinion and Options Report

A detailed written opinion on your position, prepared after reviewing your correspondence, scheme rules and service record. It sets out what the papers show, which arguments are available, the likely time and expense of each route, and where the office believes no further action is worthwhile.

Delivered within three weeks and written to be read by the client and their family without a lawyer present. Many clients use it to decide calmly whether to go further.

  • Review of all correspondence and scheme rules
  • Analysis of available legal arguments
  • Decision-support options table with effort/cost/duration
  • Plain language — readable without legal training
